It is also considered the principal site of blood formation, facilitated by Ranjaka Pitta (one of the five types of Pitta, or fire). There are herbs that help for healthy functioning of the stomach and digestive system.</p>



<p>Digestion can be defined as &#8220;The organic process by which food is converted into substances that can be absorbed and assimilated by the body for growth and maintenance of the body&#8221;. The enzymes present in the alimentary canal break the food into simple Chemical compounds.</p>



<p><strong>Following are the 13 Ayurvedic herbs recommended for healthy digestion</strong>:</p>
