As a dietary supplement

Gastro Care helps to alleviate occasional abdominal gas and manages indigestion due to Vata (air) aggravation. It further helps to promote healthy gastrointestinal tract and thus healthy assimilation and absorption of food.

Possible indications

Ayurvedic Concept

According to Ayurveda, strength, health, enthusiasm, complexion and luster of skin, vital essence like heat (temperature of the body) and the life sustaining breaths (prana) depend upon the "Jathara-agni", i.e., digestive power of the body. Weak digestive power (Jathara-agni) leads to indigestion (Manda-agni). The undigested food particles in stomach lead to the formation of ama (undigested food material), i.e. free radicals. Ama (undigested food material) is considered as the main causative factor for the pathogenesis of various problems occurring in the body. This ama (undigested food material), combined with different doshas (humors), reaches different parts of the body and later creates problems relating to those parts. For example, in terms of doshas (humors), when ama (undigested food material) remains stagnant in the gastrointestinal tract, it causes the formation of gas and development of various parasites and worms.

Related Symptoms

Vata (air) Predominance: Some of the various conditions are tetanus, cervical spondilytis, locked jaws, hysteria, paralysis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteo arthritis. The associated symptoms are abdominal pain, flatulence, constipation, syncope and body aches.

Pitta (fire) Predominance: Some of the various conditions are hormongiopathies, leprosy, malignancy, anemia, urinary tract infection, inflammation and abscess formation. The associated symptoms are burns, burning sensation in the body and increased sweating and fever.

Kapha (water) Predominance: Some of the various conditions are diabetes mellitus, bronchial asthma, cough and anorexia. The associated symptoms are heaviness and stiffness in the body, nausea, vomiting, swelling under the eyes and face and belching.

Description

A combination of Hing (Asafoetida) combined with other Ayurvedic herbs and distillates of aromatic plants, helps to maintain the proper function of the vata (air) high gastrointestinal tract. This combination is primarily used for imbalances of Apana vayu (the downward moving energy of the body). Apana is responsible for eliminative functions such as defecation, micturition, flatulence, menstruation, ejaculation and giving birth. Excellent for vata (air), this combination can be taken as natural supplement for gas, indigestion, constipation and other common problems associated with poor digestion and formation of gas. This also checks the production of ama (undigested food).

Ayurvedic Herbs

Summary

These herbs are carminative, mild laxative and digestive. They stimulate gastric secretion and promote bile production, destroy air producing bacterial growth (fermentation) and are best for abdominal discomfort. They reduce free radicals (ama), check splenomegaly, indigestion, abdominal distension and intestinal spasm.

These herbs have natural carminative use for stubborn gastrointestinal disorders, gastritis and reflux oesophagitis. These herbs help destroy worms, check stomatitis and dyspepsia, increase salivary secretions and control diarrhea.

Comment: These herbs promote digestion and check the formation of free radicals.

For Best results

Take after two initial bites of a meal.

The use of water and cold drinks should be avoided before and after the meals at least for an hour.

Best used with "Ghee" and "Trikatu churna".

For excess ama (undigested Food), use in conjunction with "Trikatu Churna".

For stubborn conditions, use in conjunction with "Neem".

For acidic disorders use it with "Netacid".

For amoebiasis and giardiasis use along with "Kutaja".

In case of excessive constipation use with "Triphala".

Foods to Favor

It is preferable to use lukewarm water, light diet (khichri), soup of green gram (lentils), raddish, unripened banana, brinjal (eggplant), lemon, garlic, tamarind, ginger, oxalis, orange, pomegranate, black pepper, curd, fenugreek, cumin seeds, ajovan seeds (caraway), mustard oil, asfoetida (hing) and peppermint can be taken in daily diet.

Foods To Avoid

Heavy and fried meat products, fish, excess use of sweets, potato, milk products except curd, junk and spicy food, bakery products, chilled water and cold drinks.

Note: Canned or packaged food containing preservatives should be avoided in any type of digestive problem.
