**GOUTS (Vatta Rakta): This Guggulu is specially used in Gouts (Vatta Rakta). In this problem Vatta (Air) plays the vital role. After excess vitiation of Vatta (Air) it makes the blood impure and produces the same. In the beginning the effect starts from hands and feet. Afterwards it results in severe pain due to swelling all over the body and contractions of phalanges, dry skin, prominent veins, tremors in the body and loss of sensation of the skin. All these are the symptoms of Gouts (Vatta Rakta). Amritadi Guggulu gives quick relief as it affects the Vatta (Air)-vitiated nerves first and then the blood. Thus, it proves to be a quick remedy.

Amritadi Guggulu should be taken with Guduchi powder (3 to 6 gm) decoction or with lukewarm water.
Person affected by Gouts should Avoid excessive physical exertion, Suppression of urine, stool, semen, thirst, tears, vomiting, hiccup, flatus and hunger etc. and abstain from Day sleep & Exposure to heat, Sunbath, Coitus and Excessive salty diet etc.
Boil 3 to 6 gm Guduchi powder with 16 times of water according to the dose (e.g. for 1 gm powder take 16 ml of water).Keep it for cooling after it remains to 1/4th of the total quantity. After straining, take it with Amritadi Guggulu. Don-t keep this decoction for more than 10 to 15 minutes because it is used in Vatta (Air) and Kapha (Water) vitiated problems and to cover these Somatic Doshas (Humors), one should take warm things (foods/drinks).
Avoid eating of pungent things (Black Gram, Lentil - Astringent but pungent after digestion), Hot food (which is too warm to touch and also hot in potency), Heavy food (taken in too much quantity or which takes too much time to digest), Channel blocking food (Curd/Yogurt), Sour things (Corn, Canned food, Rice). Avoid high protein diet - Pulses, Black Gram, All meats, Sea foods, Acidic/Salty food, Canned food, Plain Egg, Curry, Egg-Curry, Fish-Curry, Alcohol/Wine, Plain/Fried Rice, Pickles, Cough producing products (Milk products), Cold Drinks/Soft Drinks, Ice Cream and Cold Weather.
Low salt diet, Green Vegetables (Bitter Gourd, Bottle Gourd, Ridge Gourd, Snake Gourd), Wheat, Green Gram Soup, Fenugreek Seeds Powder, Old cereals of barley, Wheat, Sali (Brownish Rice - A variety of good rice) & Sastika Rice (matured in 60 days) and Meat Soup (Soups of pigeon pea), Lentils added with plenty of ghee are commended.
While taking Guggulu product, one should take bath with lukewarm water. A person suffering from any type of Joint Pains should wear warm clothes.
***** Highly vitiated Vatta (Air), without involving Pitta (Fire) and Kapha (Water), should be managed with intake of Ghee (in Vegetables/Soups), Meat-soups and other fat enhancing substances. Externally oils should be used for massage (Maha Narayana Oil and Maha Vishgarba Oil).
