Hyperacidity, indigestion, foul flatulence, heartburn, and burning sensation during defecation, nausea, vomiting during pregnancy, peptic and duodenal ulcer.
Acidity is described as "Amla Pitta" in Ayurveda and, commonly, it occurs due to faulty eating habits because the pitta (fire) gets vitiated. This vitiation produces symptoms like indigestion, tiredness, nausea, acidic belching, heaviness in body, heartburn, anorexia, laziness and burning sensations.
Acidity ("Amla pitta") is of two types:
1. Urdhva Amla Pitta (fire) (Acidity in upper abdomen)
Kapha (water) associated with ama (undigested food) is the main cause in this type. One may have vomiting of greenish yellow color and acidic in taste, belching of the taste of food taken, heart burning, burning sensation in soles and feet, anorexia, fever, skin rashes and itching may occur.
2. Adhog Amla Pitta (fire) (Acidity or burning in lower abdomen)
Pitta (fire) associated with ama (undigested food) is the main dosha (humor) in this case. One may have burning sensation during defecation, thirst, vertigo, passing slur (unformed stool) of greenish or blackish color, nausea, urticaria, indigestion, sweating and yellowish color of the body.
Vata (air) type: Shivering sensation during defecation, delirium, itching all over the body, vertigo, sluggishness in the body.
Pitta (fire) type: Vertigo, Burning sensation in heart and body.
Kapha (water) type: Ptylism, heaviness in the body, drowsiness, vomiting, anorexia, feeling of cold, indigestion and itching.
Thus, in Ayurveda, Amla Pitta (fire) (Acidity) is not the total of common symptoms, but a range of wide ill health conditions. Ayurveda has a wide approach in its finding and checking this problem.

They stimulate the secretion of healthy digestive enzymes and peristalsis. They decrease acidity due to their alkaline nature. This decrease of acidity takes place due to the digestive action of these herbs, which stimulate secretion of gastric juices. They also pacify the burning action of the Pitta (fire).
All the herbs used in netacid act as digestive tonic and reduce the excess Pitta (fire).
