Neem is a well known herb in Asia. The tree of Neem belongs to mahogany family. A lot of importance is given to this tree because of its uses in both medicines and cosmetics.

The ancient system of Indian medicine (Ayurveda) gives very much importance to the Neem tree.

Neem Oil is a vegetable oil pressed from seeds of neems.

It is generally light to dark brown in color and has bitter and strong odour.

According to Ayurveda

Neem is a well known Antiseptic, Anthelminitic, and Anti-Bacterial. Used for various skin disorders, acts as a blood-purifying agent. Neem has specific action on leprotic skin, swelling of glands, and has healing properties. Neem Oil is used to treat severe skin conditions, including eczema and psoriasis. It gives luster and shine to dogs and other pet furs, while soothing their skin and keeping bugs away. A small amount of Neem Oil (In Water) sprayed on plants, will act as a powerful, yet natural and non-polluting insecticide. The virtues of Neem Oil are celebrated by traditional Indian medicine and are increasingly appreciated all over the world.

Properties

Highly recommended for Pitta (Fire) Dosha (Humors) related conditions, as per ayurvedic theory of tridosha. Anti-Fungal and Bactericidal. A natural insecticide stimulant, and has antiseptic properties, when applied to the skin.

Ingredients : Wild Crafted Neem (Azadirachta Indica) from their natural habitat. Wild Crafted Herbs are more potent and effective than Cultivated Herbs.

Components

It comprises mainly triglycerides, triterpenoid components and steroids like compestrol, betasitosterol, stigmastrol. Compestrol are known to have cholesterol lowering activity and anti-inflammatory effects.

Beta Sistosterol is one of the Phytosterols (Plant sterols) and causes less cholesterol absorption in body.
