Habitat and Botany: An autumnal dwarf herb cultivated in Kashmir, India.

Action and Uses

It has a peculiar aromatic odor and a bitter pungent taste. It is stimulant, aphrodisiac and stomachic. Slightly anodyne and Antispasmodic (this property has two meanings, first it overcomes stomach pain and second it liquefies the phlegm deposited in the lungs), diuretic. it is used in very small doses. Its aphrodisiac property is due to its stimulation of central nervous system. It is given in anemia and seminal debility. As a stimulant and aphrodisiac, it is considered to be a sovereign remedy. it gives the urine a yellow color.
