Unpurified Guggulu: May cause diarrhea, upset digestion (heating sensation in the stomach) and skin irritation, so guggul in purified form is highly recommended. Guggulu, when used alone, is hot in nature. It is excellent for vatta (air) conditions but contraindicated in high pitta (fire) conditions, acute kidney infections and rashes. Avoid eating sour, sharp indigestible foods. Avoid excessive exhaustion, sex, sun exposure, alcohol and anger when taking this herb.
"Guggul" is hot in nature it is excellent for vatta (air) conditions but contradicted in pitta (fire) conditions. It is traditionally used in ayurveda for pain and inflammation conditions like arthritis. Recent studies have proved that this is an excellent for healthy Cholesterol & Triglycerides level but on the other side peoples with high pitta (fire) should not use guggul alone. It should be mixed with some other herbs in formulation form. So person with high pitta (fire), high blood pressure better to use cholesterol health or heart health instead of guggul alone.
