Natural Herbal Cholesterol, Triglycerides Care Formula.
Hypercholesterolemia, for individuals with cardiovascular and overweight problems.
For smokers, High fat diet consumers, Overeaters and those having a highly stressful life.
Hypercholesterolemia, according to Ayurveda, is where fats start accumulating in the body due to lack of exercise, sleeping during the daytime, consuming heavy and fried foods and maintaining a sedentary life style. This accumulation of fats causes the blockage of body channels through which nutrients are distributed to all the body parts. As such fatty parts of the body absorb all the nourishment and keep on increasing and other parts do not get proper nutrition. This accumulation of excess fat or imbalance of proper distribution of fat causes the vitiation of Vata (Air) and particularly of Gastric fire. This vitiation of gastric fire leads to the formation of Ama (undigested food particles or free radicals) in the blood, which increase the Hypercholesterolemia. The excess meda (fats) with the help of vata (air) circulate in the channels of the body and get deposited producing various symptoms like sudden dyspnea, thirst, excess sleep, lethargy, perspiration, foul smell from body, weakness, uneasiness in the chest region, swelling over various parts of the body, lack of stamina and loss of libido.
Ultimately Hypercholesterolemia leads to various health disorders by vitiating the other two humors pita (fire) and kapha (water). These disorders include hypertension, diabetes mellitus, heart problems, joint disorders, obesity and loss of libido.
There are many herbs which are used in Ayurveda that help to keep the cholesterol level in its balanced state, regulate abnormal lipoprotein metabolism, as well as balance the biological humors Vata (Air), Pita (Fire) and Kapha (Water).
Modern View: Cholesterol builds up in the coronary arteries leads to the condition known as Hridaya roga in Ayurveda, which literally means heart disease. This is similar to atherosclerosis. When the cholesterol collects in the arteries leading to the heart, their lumen becomes narrow and the amount of blood entering the heart is insufficient. Due to this the heart needs to pump harder, causing several kinds of cardiovascular diseases, the worst of which is the fatal angina pectoris.
Cholesterol is present in fatty acids. Some cholesterol is needed for the proper utilization of foods in the body, formation of the hormones and the bile, etc. This is known as the high density cholesterol, or simply, the useful cholesterol. The rest of the cholesterol simply builds up in the arteries without any apparent function. This is the low density cholesterol, or the bad cholesterol.
The build up of cholesterol can be reduced by several herbs according to ayurveda. An excess of cholesterol can produce extremely fatal cardiovascular conditions such as Atherosclerosis, Heart Aches, Heart Attacks, High Blood Pressure, etc.
A common misconception is that all kinds of fats can cause cholesterol build up. In fact, only saturated fats and trans-fatty acids are responsible in building up cholesterol in the arteries. Whereas, cholesterol obtained from the monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids such as from nuts and cool water fishes are useful to the body, and they can bring the level of the harmful cholesterol down.
Triglycerides: Triglycerides are fat circulating in our bloodstream. This fat is collected in the different tissues of the body from where the energy demands of the body are met. Any type of food you eat, Protein, Carbohydrates or Fats, get converted to Triglycerides. Therefore, it is normal to have Triglycerides in your blood.
Nevertheless, it is when the levels of triglycerides increase that a person has a problem as it increases the risk of developing heart disease and stroke. There are many herbs that help to reduce elevated levels of triglycerides.

The tree is known in India as Guggul. Its sap contains a compound that blocked the action of a cell receptor, called FXR, which helps regulate a body's cholesterol level, said David D. Moore, a molecular biologist at the Baylor School of Medicine in Houston. He is co-author of a study that appeared Friday in Science Express, the electronic version of the journal Science. "Our results suggest that other compounds that could affect FXR could also control cholesterol", Moore said. "This mechanism is completely different from the action of statin drugs", which are taken by million to control cholesterol.
