Arogyavardhini means good health improver. It means that formulation which improves good health and is used in the imbalance of all the three Doshas (Humors).
This is a traditional Ayurvedic formula used by itself or in conjunction with herbal products/supplements. It is used in the imbalances of all the three Doshas (Humors). It is used for Leprosy, Fever, Edema, Obesity, Jaundice and other Hepatic disorders. It is good for lack of Appetite, Indigestion & Irregular bowls, Liver disorders and Skin disease. It is a herbal formulation for removing toxins from liver. It is very useful in maintaining health and curing problems. It has been specially found useful in clearing the accumulated bile which is the leading cause of Jaundice. The herb Kutki which is the major ingredient of it acts as emulsifying and cutting agent which clears the bile deposition from our body. It also has laxative action which helps to eliminate toxins out of the body. Therefore it is recommend in chronic constipation and skin disorders. It possess cholagogue, hepato protective and liver stimulant action.
Arogyavardhini Vati by its cholagogue action stimulates secretion of Bile from liver into small intestine which in turn binds to fat present in food; excrete them out without being absorbed. Therefore it is also used in cases of obesity.
In endocrine disorders (Low or high hormonal production) which leads to imbalanced growth of body and decrease the reflexes and there seems to be no Pubertic changes (Development of sex organs) in males or in females. In these conditions prolonged use of Arogyavardhini Vati can be beneficial. Most of the auto immune problems are having their relation with inadequacy of liver functions. Thus Arogyavardhini Vati is useful in managing all auto immune problems like Psoriasis, Auto Immune Hepatitis., Endometriosis etc.
Arogyavardhini Vati promotes digestive Fire (Pitta), clears body channels for the nutrients to reach to the tissues, balances fats in the body and removes toxins by improving the digestive system. It also acts as tonic to Liver, Heart, Rectum, Kidneys, Uterus and Intestines & is useful in inflammatory conditions of Intestines, Chronic fevers, Jaundice and for Water retention.
Arogyavardhini this rejuvenator helps to improve the appetite & decrease the fats from the body. It is beneficial in reducing the inflammation of Liver, Spleen, Bladder, Kidney, Uterus, Intestines, Heart etc. & also in chronic Fever, Ascitis, Jaundice and Chronic renal diseases.
It flushes out the intestinal toxicity, produces Pachak Pitta (Fire) (Gastric juices) and makes the liver healthy. Thus, it is beneficial in Indigestion, Dyspepsia and in Liver disorders. Disordered functioning of endocrine glands (Low or high hormonal production) leads to imbalanced growth of body and decreases the reflexes and there seems to be no pubertic changes (Development of sex organs) in males or in females. In this condition, prolonged use of Arogyavardhini can be beneficial.
In Leprosy (Udumber Kustha) In early stage of leprosy, it gives good results, but not in later stage.
In this, skin becomes lacerated, dry and there is sensation loss of the affected area. The scars become red in color & look like "Cluster/Country fig. fruit" (Gullar/Udumber) and result in excessive sweating from the affected areas. In this stage, Arogyavardhini should be used with Silfina - MTL Detox.
How to use more effectively in different conditions with different carrier.
It can be used with Water, Milk or Punarnava powder (1-3 gm) (0.05 to 0.1 oz) (Half to1 tea-spoon) decoction.
In Edema and Ascitis take with cow milk.
Enlargement of Liver with Punarnava Powder (1-3 gm) decoction
In Heart disease with Punarnava Powder (1-3 gm) decoction.
The liver is an extremely important organ as it is the seat of the fine digestive fires of the human body and also the converter of the Plasma into the blood. So from an Ayurvedic view the liver is the master controller of the entire body. However, the liver is susceptible to a large number of disorders also. One of these is abnormal enlargement of liver which is known as hepatomegaly.
The increase in the size of the liver happens gradually due to various factors. Some of them are fevers, hepatitis, malaria, liver abscesses. Enlargement of liver can became a life threatening condition. It is extremely essential to take care as soon as possible. There ar several methods in Ayurveda which can help to prevent and help the condition of hepatomegaly.
Kutki (Picrorrhia) and Nisoth (Turpeth) are good herbs to help in liver enlargement. The Arogyavardhini vati can be prescribed which contains a mixture of both these herbs in powder forms.
For liver enlargement the dhaatu copper is also taken in the form of Bhasam. It is also a component of Arogyavardhini Vati.
Thus this herbal product is used for eliminating toxins out of the body.
Best use : Take Arogyavardhini Vati with Punarnava Powder ( 1- 3 gm) decoction.
Jaundice : Jaundice is known as "Kamala' in Ayurvedic terminology.
Symptoms : The typical symptoms of Jaundice is that the eyes appear yellow, tongue also taken yellowish hue, urine become dark yellow in colour. Skin also become yellow in colour Patient suffering from Jaundice becomes weak. The commonly prescribed Ayurvedic formulas for patients suffering from Jaundice are Arogyavardhini Vati, Avipatikar Churna, Triphala.
People having jaundice should not consume the following items.
Ascites : In Ayurveda Ascites is known as "Jaolodara". Ascites is excess of fluid in the space between the tissues lining the abdomen and abdominal organ.
A person with ascites usually have liver diseases.
While deciding the treatment for ascites the stages are considered first.
Psoriasis is an inflammatory problems of skin which is non infections. It is characterized by reddish plaques with large sticky silvery scales. It is an abnormality in the skin caused by diversion of basal layers of the skin.
According to Ayurveda – Psorasis could be caused due to the dysfunctioning of Vata (Air) and Kapha (Water) doshas. Accumulation of toxins or Aam (Mucus and toxins ) could also lead to this problem. Excessive intake of Yogurt, Seafood, Salty Food, Black Grams and Sourfood can cause aggrevation in this condition. It may also develop due to excess stress.
Best use: use Arogyavardhini Vati, Kaishore Guggulu and Mahamanjistha- Kwath for getting good result for long term.

Note : How to make decoction - Boil 3 to 6 gm (1 Tea-spoon to 1½ tea-spoon) Guduchi Powder with 16 times of water according to the dose (e.g. for 1 gm powder take 16 ml of water). Keep it for cooling after it remains to 1/4 th of the total quantity. After straining, take it with Arogyavardhini Vati. Don't keep this decoction for more than 10 to 15 minutes.
